Having graduated from
degree in Psychology
from study of human and animal behavior, which included the theories of operant conditioning and insights into the relationships between animals and their environment. When her sister
Danielle was given a Tri-colored Australian Shepherd puppy, Journey, for her birthday Amy was excited at the opportunity to put her knowledge and understanding of the techniques of operant conditioning and positive reinforcement to use on a daily basis. Amy also helped her mother work with the family’s second dog, Stryder, who was rescued from Bideawhile animal shelter in
named Canyon. Since being adopted by Amy and Sean, Canyon has grown into a great family companion and is now competing in the sport of agility! In 2006 Amy purchased a Amy, Canyon, Journey, and Stryder new Blue Merle Border Collie named Surf. Amy is always looking for ways to maintain and improve on her skills as an instructor. She has attended seminars on dog aggression and agility training techniques. Amy truly enjoys teaching and looks forward to meeting you and your dog.
